What has happened?

Way to the Web Ltd (ConfigServer), the original developer of the CSF (ConfigServer Security & Firewall) tool used globally, officially ceased all business operations on August 31, 2025. As a result, the original update servers and official support channels have been decommissioned.

How this affects your service

The good news is that your current firewall protection remains fully active. However, to ensure long-term stability and security patches, we have implemented the following transitions:

• For cPanel-managed Servers: We have successfully transitioned these systems to the new cPanel-maintained CSF fork released in February 2026. This ensures your firewall continues to receive critical security updates directly through the cPanel ecosystem.

   

   

• For Standalone (Non-Panel) Servers: Our technical team has manually updated these environments to the final GPLv3 Open Source version (v15.00) or verified community-maintained forks. We have reconfigured these servers to bypass the decommissioned update links, preventing system log errors and ensuring smooth performance.

   

   

Our Commitment

While the original company has closed, the "Open Source" release of the software allows us to continue maintaining it for you. You do not need to take any manual action. Our team is actively monitoring these systems and exploring modern alternatives—such as CrowdSec and MEF Firewall—for future deployments to stay ahead of evolving threats.
