How do I create a TXT/SPF Record? Print

  • 2

By using TXT or SPF records, the owner of a domain name is able to specify which machines are allowed to send emails using their domain. Receivers can then validate the SPF and reject messages from unauthorised senders before receiving the body of the message. This helps fight spam, as it restricts which email servers are allowed to send emails using your domain name. Below are instructions on how to add SPF records on your account.

Cloud:

To create a TXT record:
  1. Log in to the Admin Panel
  2. Hover over 'Domains' and click 'Manage Domains'
  3. Click the domain you want to edit
  4. Click 'Zone Manager' in the left menu
  5. In the section 'To add a record to this zone click on a type,' click TXT
  6. Leave the name field blank
  7. Type the text record in the TXT field  eg. "v=spf1 mx ip4:XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX ~all"
  8. Click [Add Record]
